Founded in 1833 on the beautiful Isle of Man, King William's College is a co-ed independent boarding school for ages 11-18. With a rich history, we excel as one of the longest-standing International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in the British Isles. The IB philosophy - particularly its emphasis on skills and its focus on internationalism - is central to our approach.
The Isle of Man is a beautiful environment in which to live, giving students the freedom to explore and take advantage of the fresh air, open countryside and beaches, away from the hustle and bustle and pollution of a busy city. We have boarders from a wide variety of countries around the world, offering a welcoming boarding environment easily accessible through air links from major UK and Irish airports.
We are nonselective, but through the dedication of our staff, the structure of support for each individual and the work ethic of the students, we achieve excellent results. Our students consistently secure placements in top universities across the UK, Europe, and the USA.
Immersed in a broad curriculum, our pupils engage in competitive sports with schools from the UK and the Isle of Man. Every three years, the senior rugby and hockey teams embark on a world sports tour during the summer months. Beyond academics, we offer diverse extracurricular activities like golf, paddle boarding, and sailing to enrich the student experience.
Thriving in Drama and Music, our students showcase their talents at events and productions. There are workshops throughout the year and students are also encouraged to participate in competitions.
