Founded in 1885, St Andrew's Cathedral School is a coeducational, independent Anglican school, located in the heart of Sydney's CBD. Reflecting our Christian foundations, we are a strong and hopeful learning community that nurtures the individual strengths of each student in our care.

Originally founded as a Choral School in 1885, we are known for our outstanding performing arts programme with over 25 music ensembles, including our Cathedral choristers. With extensive sporting and co-curricular opportunities - we cater to a wide variety of interests. We also have an extensive outdoor education programme based in the NSW Southern Highlands.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, our middle school students are taught the NSW school curriculum through the IB Middle Years framework and Senior College students can choose to study either the HSC or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.

We are Sydney's quintessential city school, located in two high-rise buildings in the centre of Sydney's CBD. Our buildings are purposefully designed, light-filled learning spaces for Junior School, Middle School and a dedicated pre-tertiary environment for Senior College.

Our teachers are experts in their chosen fields who very much enjoy the relational nature of teaching and who engage in the character development of each child, both within and outside the classroom. They are also passionate about developing their practice and benefit from a progressive professional learning programme.

The School's commitment to genuine reconciliation and healing began in 2007 with the establishment of Gawura, an award-winning, dedicated K-6 day school for First Nations students where surrounded by language and culture, students are proud of their First Nations heritage. As a social justice initiative, Gawura is an integral part of the broader school.

The academic performance of our Year 12 graduates is consistently impressive. To discover the latest St Andrew's Cathedral School IB Diploma and HSC results, please visit:

We have a growing number of international students, and our city location combines to ensure we have a diverse community of students with a global outlook, who are drawn from all over Sydney and beyond.
