St. George's British International School is a private school in Bilbao, proud member of Globeducate British International Schools cluster, and has been part of the prestigious Globeducate network since 2017. The school prepares their students for the world of tomorrow throughout a full English immersion from the age of 2, combining innovative methodologies and personalised attention to ensure that every one of our students reaches their full potential. Their students develop into well-rounded, socially responsible citizens with respect for one another. Music, sport, creative arts, and technology form an integral part of the curriculum.

Academic excellence since 1956

With a long heritage of education spanning more than half a century, the school has an educational philosophy based on four pillars, around which its ambitious and stimulating curriculum is structured: Enrich, Challenge, Shape and Achieve. St. George's British International has a clear goal: to enrich and challenge its students, so that each and every one of them can achieve success in their own way and do their bit to shape the world for the better.

St. George's British International School follows the English National Curriculum, and it is accredited by both the British Council and the Basque Government. They are proud to be the first British school in Biscay to deliver the prestigious British education system at all stages of education, from two to 18 years of age. This transition began in 2021 and will be completed in the 2024-2025 school year, with their first class of A level students.

The school is proud to be a part of Globeducate, which operates more than 60 schools worldwide. This international network provides their students with unique opportunities and international events to interact with students from a wide range of cultures and nationalities.

Beyond the classes

St. George's British International School provides its students with an exclusive outdoor learning programme, from the age of six upwards: "The Journey", a unique opportunity to build character, knowledge, skills, competencies and global perspectives as they embark on a personal journey of discovery and challenge. This programme, unique to Globeducate schools, lays the foundation for following the internationally recognised Duke of Edinburgh programme, aimed at students from Year 9 to Year 12.

The school also promotes the traditional House System to foster collaboration between students of different ages, team spirit, leadership skills and reinforce the sense of belonging to a community.
