The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) recently held an exciting and enriching three-week Summer Program, offering students from Prep Reception to Grade 12 a unique platform to explore hobbies, uncover fresh interests, and above all, have fun with their peers in a safe, supportive environment.

Running from June 12-28, the ISKL Summer Program ensured a perfect blend of learning and leisure with a myriad of age-appropriate activities. The full and half-day options throughout the program provided a flexible framework to cater to different student needs and schedules.

This year's program encouraged learners to step out of their comfort zones, relish the great outdoors, and engage in many hands-on experiences. From sports to the arts, the Summer Program incorporated a wide variety of activities designed to pique the curiosity of every participant.

A special offering this summer was Inspirit AI, a program run by Stanford and MIT graduates that drew 21 enthusiastic participants into the fascinating world of artificial intelligence. Students explored AI’s foundational concepts and real-world applications, such as powering ChatGPT and aiding in the fight against COVID-19. The course equipped students with programming skills in Python, guided them through discussions on the ethics and biases inherent in AI, and culminated in a group project where they applied AI techniques across various disciplines.

But what set ISKL's Summer Program apart was its commitment to fostering camaraderie and friendship among the students. The shared experiences throughout programs such as super scientists, groovy gardeners, tennis camp, and others contributed to a stronger sense of community, highlighting the importance of interpersonal connections in holistic learning.
