An international community at AMADEUS Vienna: embracing diversity & inclusion
Posted on 13th Aug 2024 in School News, AustriaHere at AMADEUS International School Vienna we celebrate diversity, and we emphasise inclusivity. We currently have over 500 students from more than 60 nationalities worldwide, all brought together by a warm sense of community. With a multinational staff and student body, the AMADEUS Vienna community is enriched with different cultures yet united as one. We offer a distinctive blend of rigorous academics, an innovative music and arts education, and a culturally diverse and multilingual experience enhanced by optional boarding in superior, state-of-the-art facilities.
AMADEUS Vienna Boarding – United Under One Roof
AMADEUS Boarding not only provides students with a home away from home, but it also works to offer a supportive and caring environment that is an integral part of the learning experience at AMADEUS Vienna. Our Boarding House is a place where students can be happy and safe and are offered the possibility and support of becoming the best versions of themselves every day.
Our focus is to facilitate the growth of “Global Citizenship” within our students by providing opportunities to demonstrate positive decision-making, overcoming challenges, and building a flourishing boarding community together. This means that we actively accept all of our global citizens under one roof and educate them to learn about new cultures, visit new places, and try to understand the people sitting next to them who come from different parts of the world. We listen to our students’ views and seek their thoughts and input, which is why we always encourage our students to collaborate with the boarding staff with the aim of making the Boarding House the happiest, most thriving, and collectively successful community possible.
AMADEUS Nutrition
We practice diversity and inclusion in many ways at our school, with culinary aspects being just one aspect of our multiculturality. Our experienced chefs enjoy preparing foods from all around the world that reflect the diversity of our international student body. In a diverse and inclusive school community, students from all nationalities and backgrounds can sparkle and thrive, bringing their unique experiences and backgrounds to the table. By respecting and embracing these differences, we can foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity that allows students to feel valued, heard, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
One School – Many Different, Beautiful Voices
We see our school as a vibrant tapestry of diverse voices, where students from all corners of the world come together to form a strong sense of belonging. We celebrate and value every individual, regardless of their background, and cherish the unique perspectives and opinions that each student brings to the table. By embracing this diversity, we create a welcoming and inclusive school community that is truly greater than the sum of its parts. We see opportunities daily to learn from one another and grow and evolve together. And as we stand together every day, we know that our school is more than just a building with classrooms. It is a place where our diverse voices are heard and valued, where we form unbreakable bonds, and where we learn that our differences are what make us truly special.
AMADEUS Boarding Student Leadership Team - AMADEUS Boarding Prefects
As we strive to cultivate a supportive and caring environment, having student body representatives is crucial for connecting students and boarding staff. Each academic year, we hold the annual selection of Prefects, seeking the most dedicated, enthusiastic, and talented
individuals to lead our activities and projects. As part of the student leadership team, the prefects will mentor younger boarders, organise engaging initiatives, and offer support to their peers. Their efforts ensure that the boarding house remains a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone.
