GEMS International School Tropicana Metropark (GIM) is delighted to be able to celebrate AS Level success with our students this afternoon. The results of the examinations taken in June reflect the hard work and determination shown throughout this difficult time from our Year 12 students, who took their examinations in person despite the 32 weeks of total school closure during their courses. The results also reflect the support that parents have given and the tuition of our expert teaching team, who have exceptional relationships with our students and who have again achieved record-breaking results with this class. These are significant achievements of which we are incredibly proud.

• Marks of 98% was achieved by two students in two different subject areas - mathematics and English Literature
• One student achieved marks of 90% or above in all subjects

Subject specific celebrations are noted with:

• 100% of students achieved As in Mathematics
• 100% of students achieved As in Chemistry
• 100% of students achieved As in Biology

Mr Anthony Partington, Principal, said: “We are enormously proud of this group of students who have shown their tenacity, determination and resilience throughout the pandemic. This group of students were celebrated for their record breaking IGCSE results and now for these amazing AS Level results. We were thrilled they were able to take these examinations in person and really highlight their strengths and development as young adults. Huge congratulations to them and the teaching team who have supported them expertly throughout the year.”

Mrs Cassie Fleming, Head of Secondary, said: “The results are a credit to the hard work and commitment of our students and staff. It has been an incredibly challenging year and despite being our first group of A Level students, we have shown the teaching expertise and support required to nurture exceptional students, who we know will move on to exceptional things. Congratulations to everyone on these wonderful achievements. We look forward to continuing study through the whole A Level course, working with these remarkable students and growing our A Level classes based on this proven success.”

Results were released to students in an optional zoom call where we witnessed smiles and happy tears from both students and staff. A fantastic set of results, very well done to all involved.
