The EU Careers Services Department held the annual EU Business School Careers Fair on March 31 at the Crowne Plaza Barcelona – Fira Center.

The event proved to be an even bigger success than last year, with several companies already contacting candidates for follow-up interviews and internship offers.

Organized by Head of Business Development Anna Wlodek and Careers Advisor Laurie Le Dentu; EU welcomed a number of companies that included: Accenture, Babel Profiles, Bloomberg, Criteo, Hotel Arts, HotelsCombined, Nice People At Work, Page Group, PTC, PwC, TransPerfect, TravelClick and Zurich Insurance.

Students also took part in presentations such as How to Become a Star Employee and Get the Most Out of Your Job, moderated by Santiago García, founder of Future of Work Institute and with a panel that included: Alberto Platz, vice president of global talent acquisition & engagement at Swarovski; Susy Bobenrieth, former vice president of HR Latin America at Nike; Thomas Nivol, staffing manager EMEA at Criteo; and Paula Mariani, UX director at Schibsted Spain. The Gasol Foundation, founded by NBA All-Stars Pau and Marc Gasol to help combat childhood obesity, held a presentation on the Social Side of Sports Management.

EU alumnus and managing partner at Headway Executive Search, Víctor Carulla began the afternoon by sharing insights from Inside the Selection Process. The event then came to a close with a presentation by three EU alumni who shared their entrepreneurial knowhow.

Moderator Pau Fernández, head of corporate development at Itnig, together with speakers Joad López, CEO & co-founder of eyescream and friends and Ricardo Gómez, co-founder & sales director at BeMobile Client, provided students with an in-depth look at The Lean Startup Methodology.

The EU Careers Fair is an event that gives students the opportunity to meet face to face with professionals actively recruiting interns and employees. By connecting students and potential employers, the fair helps students make the contacts necessary to create networks and achieve their career ambitions. The event also plays an important role in preparing students for the working world while assisting companies in finding new talent.
