Unlocking the artistic potential: SCAD rising stars at Western International School of Shanghai
Posted on 30th Sep 2024 in School News, ChinaDesigned to provide CP SCAD students with a unique and enriching experience, the SCAD Rising Stars programme at Western International School of Shanghai (WISS) offers students the chance to immerse themselves in the vibrant campus life of SCAD during the summer between their 11th and 12th-grade years. This innovative initiative allows these talented individuals to complete two university-level courses, completing their IBCP SCAD requirements.
By spending time on the SCAD campus, CP SCAD students gain access to the institution’s renowned resources and have the opportunity to work closely with esteemed SCAD professors. This valuable exposure not only enhances their academic and creative skills but also provides them with a glimpse of the dynamic environment they will encounter as they transition from high school to university.
The SCAD Rising Stars programme also fosters a sense of community, enabling students to connect with like-minded peers who share their passion for art and design. This collaborative experience, coupled with the guidance and mentorship of SCAD faculty, serves as a powerful catalyst for the participants’ personal and professional growth.
This year, one WISS student, Tabitha, will be attending the Rising Stars programme. She recently landed in Savannah, and we wish her all the best for what promises to be a challenging but fruitful summer.
Through this groundbreaking initiative, SCAD and WISS are redefining the future of art education, empowering the next generation of innovators and visionaries. By providing CP SCAD students with this unparalleled opportunity, they are laying the foundation for a future where creative excellence and academic rigor converge, unlocking the boundless potential of artistic minds.
