Jerudong International School students celebrate outstanding IGCSE results
Posted on 20th Oct 2023 in School News, Brunei Darussalam, Exam results, IGCSEOne hundred and seventy nine Year 11 students at Jerudong International School (JIS) have celebrated superb results in the International GCSE (IGCSE) examinations which they sat in June 2023.
58.9% of all grades awarded were either an A* or A grade (Level 9, 8 or 7). 92.9% of the students received Grades A*-C (Levels 9-4) overall. There were also some extremely strong subject performances across the school.
Li Jia Chong (Bruneian) and Mélanie Poulain (British) both achieved an outstanding 10 A* or A (Level 9, 8 or 7) in all their subjects which will provide both of them with an excellent foundation as they enter Year 12 to study for the A Level programme (Li Jia Chong) and the IB Diploma programme (Mélanie Poulain) in preparation for university.
Bruneian Ministry of Education Scholarship student Haris Romi Irwin achieved 9 A*/A Grades (Level 9-7). Also achieving 9 A*/A grades were fellow Bruneians Jia Hui Tan and Abby Ting. A further 19 international students also achieved 9A*/A grades - Hamza Anjum (Pakistan), Will Bell (UK), Rahul Dhara (India), Abdullah Faique (Pakistan), Rebekah Grajewski (UK), Sana Hamid (Pakistan), Anima Hasan (Bangladesh), Sienna Holmes (UK), Neeha Kanan (Malaysia), Yajna Karri India), Iggy Malik (UK), Lotam Mike-Ikebudu (Netherlands), Dhurg Mohana Krishnan (Malaysia), Nicholas Morgan (Canada), Rodion Rakhimzyanov (Russia), Marianne Sequeira (India), Olivia Smith (New Zealand), Jasmine Turton (UK), Manya Verma (India) and Hannah Yusri (Malaysia).
Jazmina Azman, Nasriyah Nor Asilin and Najihah Nor Asman (Brunei MoE Scholarship students) achieved 8 A*/A grades (Level 9-7) as did Nadhirah Amirul Adly, Safiya Khalifah, Clara Ang, Daniel Azizan, Alesha Ng, Syasya Hamsani, Ariesya Suhaimi, Rayyan Kamaluddin and Phoebe Yip (also all Bruneians). International students Katie McCambridge (UK), Nadia Mohd Shahrulnizam (Malaysia), Clemens Bindseil (Germany), Balqish Muhd Islahuddin (Malaysia), Sarah Chng (Singapore), Amanda Goh (Malaysia) and Akshita Gopinath Lakshmi (India) also achieved outstanding 8 A*/A grades.
A further 26 students achieved 7 A*/A Grades (Level 9-7) from their IGCSEs.
